Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Debate Coach role based at Sant Atulanand Convent School in Pindra.

The Debate

Coach will plan and conduct regular debate practice sessions, teach fundamentals of argumentation, logic, and public speaking, and help students develop research, critical thinking, and presentation skills. The role includes designing age-appropriate debate curricula, preparing students for inter-school and intra-school competitions, and organizing debate events and workshops.

Coach will mentor students individually and in groups, provide constructive feedback on performances, collaborate with other teachers to integrate debating skills into classroom activities,



and maintain records of student progress and competition outcomes.

Qualifications

- Solid skills in debate coaching, public speaking, and argumentation, with the ability to teach logic, reasoning, and rebuttal techniques.
- Experience guiding students in research, evidence-based analysis, and structured writing for speeches and debate cases.
- Ability to design and implement debate curricula, training plans, and practice schedules suitable for different age groups.
- Excellent classroom management, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on encouraging confidence and respectful discourse.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Communication, Political Science, or a related field; formal debate or coaching experience is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including experience coordinating competitions, events, and co-curricular activities.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, and comfort presenting to groups of students and staff.
- Commitment to student safety, inclusivity, and holistic development in line with the school’s values and policies.
