Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain our mission-critical databases supporting RD, manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory reporting. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (IT, QA/Regulatory, RD) to ensure data integrity, performance, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Database Design Development
- Architect and implement relational database schemas (Oracle, MS SQL Server) optimized for transactional and reporting workloads.
- Develop stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers to support application requirements.

- Performance Tuning Optimization

- Monitor query performance; analyze execution plans; implement indexing strategies and partitioning to improve throughput.
- Conduct regular health checks and capacity planning.

- Data Integration ETL

- Design and maintain ETL jobs (using SSIS, Informatica or Talend) for batch and real-time data ingestion from LIMS, ERP, and clinical systems.
- Ensure data mappings, transformations, and validations adhere to business rules and regulatory requirements.

- Validation Compliance

- Prepare and execute database validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) in line with GAMP5 guidelines.
- Maintain audit trails and support internal/external audits and inspections.

- Backup, Recovery Security

- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies; perform periodic restore drills.
- Manage user permissions and encryption to safeguard sensitive clinical and manufacturing data.

- Collaboration Support





- Partner with application developers to integrate database solutions into new and existing applications.
- Provide Level-2/3 support for database-related incidents, drive root-cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

Required Qualifications Experience

- Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or related field.
- Experience: 3 5 years of hands-on experience in database development and administration, ideally within the pharmaceutical or life-sciences sector.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced SQL skills; proficiency in PL/SQL or T-SQL.
- Expertise in Oracle 12c/19c and/or Microsoft SQL Server 2016+.
- Experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Informatica, Talend) and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows server environments and shell scripting.

- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of GxP regulations, data integrity principles, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

- Certification in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) or big-data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java for automation and data processing.
- Exposure to cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
