The Role

We are looking for a passionate and analytical Data Scientist to join our Renewable Energy Analytics team. In this role, you will develop data-driven solutions for utility-scale solar, storage [BESS] and wind power plants. You will be expected to transform large-scale operational data into actionable insights.

You will work at the intersection of data science, software engineering and renewable energy to build scalable analytics, performance monitoring solutions and predictive models that improve plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop analytics and machine learning solutions for utility-scale solar power plants.
- Analyse large volumes of time-series sensor and SCADA data to identify performance trends and operational issues.
- Design and implement algorithms for fault detection, anomaly detection and performance diagnostics.
- Develop KPIs related to plant performance, energy generation, equipment health and operational efficiency.
- Build data pipelines for processing, cleaning, analysing high-frequency plant data.
- Create interactive visualisations and dashboards.
- Work with Digital Twin models and simulation outputs (e.g., PVsyst).
- Perform statistical analysis and root cause investigations.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product and Business Development teams in a collaborative workplace




- Optimise analytics for scalability and reliability.
- Contribute to technical documentation.

What We Are Looking For?
- PhD with relevant research [solar/battery/renewables domain]
- Or Masters + 2 years
- 2+ years of experience with Data Science, Machine Learning, Analytics via research or job.
- Clear, logical thinking + communication and strong ability to learn quickly and apply.
- Basic Python programming skills.
- Experience with Pandas, NumPy, SQL.
- Knowledge of statistics and machine learning.
- Experience with time-series data.
- Git and software development best practices.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Technical knowledge of: Plotly / Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, Git, REST APIs
- Expert in Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Statistical Modelling

We’d love it if you also have these skills
- Experience in renewable energy or power systems.
- Knowledge of solar SCADA systems.
- Utility-scale solar, storage, wind experience.
- Understanding of PR, specific Yield, availability and energy loss analysis.
- Exposure to digital twins, predictive maintenance or Industrial IoT.
- Experience deploying ML models.
