About The Role The Presales Consultant at Tech Data plays a vital role in supporting the sales team by providing expert technical assistance throughout the sales process. This position involves delivering tailored product demonstrations, technical proof of concepts, and qualification discussions to prospective and existing clients.

The Presales

Consultant collaborates closely with account and product managers to identify customer needs, qualify opportunities, and help expand existing accounts through strategic questioning and technical validation. The role requires a proactive approach to presenting solutions, supporting customer engagements, and contributing to the development of technical proposals and RFP responses. Additionally, the Presales Consultant is responsible for conducting technical training sessions for partners, managing technical assets, and participating in industry events to promote Tech Data’s offerings.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess between 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a presales or technical support role within the IT industry. A minimum of an Associate Degree in IT or related fields is required.

The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills,



the ability to interpret and execute technical instructions, and proficiency in basic mathematical calculations. Adaptability and quick learning of new systems and technologies are essential traits. The candidate must be able to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including customers and internal teams.

A proactive attitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively are highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Assist account and product managers in qualifying sales opportunities by providing technical support and expertise, including managing complex brands or taking ownership of simpler ones.
- Deliver pre-sales technical support, including product demonstrations and presentations to customers and business partners.
- Support the delivery of training sessions for partners on product solutions to enhance their technical understanding and sales capabilities.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of technical proposals, RFPs, and RFIs to ensure alignment with customer needs and technical standards.
- Coordinate and manage technical validation events such as Proof of Concepts (POCs), ensuring smooth execution and documentation.
- Manage and organize technical assets required for demonstrations and POCs, maintaining an efficient and accessible repository.
- Collaborate with other presales professionals or work independently to support project management activities, including setting up bills of materials (BOMs).
- Participate in industry conferences, trade shows,



and exhibitions to promote Tech Data’s solutions and expand professional networks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to team success.
