About Great Eastern Foundation (GEF)

The Outstanding Eastern Foundation (GEF) is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of The Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd. (GES) and Greatship (India) Limited.

GEF’s initiatives are focused on three key pillars: Education, Healthcare, and Livelihood Development. Alongside our core projects, we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for employee engagement and community involvement across our group companies.

Key Responsibilities

NGO Partner Portfolio Management

- Identify and evaluate potential NGO partners through comprehensive due diligence.
- Review and assess project proposals and recommendations.
- Support presentations to the CSR Committee for project approvals and partnership formalization.
- Conduct periodic programmatic and financial reviews of partner NGOs to monitor progress, outcomes, and impact. This role will require regular travel to project locations.

Employee Engagement

- Design, coordinate, and execute meaningful employee engagement and volunteering initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with employees, NGO partners, and external service providers to ensure successful implementation of engagement programs.

MIS & Compliance

- Maintain project MIS, documentation, and reporting in coordination with external partners/vendors.




- Support internal and external audits related to CSR projects, financial records, and statutory compliance requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, including NGOs, CSR foundations, government agencies, and community partners, to enhance the reach and impact of GEF’s initiatives.

Key Skills & Qualifications

- Education: Master’s degree in social work (MSW), Sociology, Development Studies, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience with exposure to grassroots social realities. Direct corporate CSR experience is highly advantageous.
- Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence (EQ), empathy, and a genuine passion for social change.
- Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Travel: Willingness and readiness to travel to rural project locations as required.
- Tech Savviness: Strong proficiency in basic computer skills and an interest in leveraging technology for social sector impact.
