Job Summary
As Legal Counsel - Global Operations, you will play a key role in supporting the legal infrastructure that enables Lattice Semiconductor to operate effectively across a growing global footprint. As Lattice grows, its workforce, geographic reach, and operational complexity have expanded significantly, particularly throughout Asia-Pacific. In this role, based in India, you will support a broad range of legal matters spanning subsidiary governance, compliance, global operations, and employment and HR support. You will support operations broadly - general corporate, human resources, finance, tax, compliance, and business leaders worldwide to help ensure Lattice can operate efficiently while appropriately managing legal and compliance risks.
The successful candidate will join Lattices Legal Department, operating within its Corporate Governance legal team, while partnering with colleagues across the broader Legal team.
This position offers significant exposure across both the Legal Department and the broader business. This is a highly collaborative, business-facing role that provides a unique opportunity to influence decision-making, support strategic initiatives, and help shape the legal infrastructure of a growing global public company.
Responsibilities
- Support global subsidiary governance activities, including board and shareholder approvals, maintenance of corporate records, director and officer appointments, powers of attorney, statutory filings, and other legal entity management responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions;
- Support cross-border operational matters impacting employees and business operations throughout the world, including international mobility initiatives, business travel issues, remote work arrangements, global workforce expansion efforts, and more;
- Support a broad range of employment-related matters,
including local law related matters for employment agreements, employee onboarding, workplace accommodations, investigations, leaves of absence, workforce restructurings, employee separations, and other HR-related legal issues;
- Coordinating with outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions; obtaining, interpreting, and implementing local law advice; and translating complex legal requirements into practical recommendations for business stakeholders;
- Providing day-to-day legal support relating to anti-corruption, competition law, privacy, records management, internal policies, investigations, compliance reviews, and corporate governance matters;
- Supporting integration activities, workforce scaling initiatives, and other strategic projects associated with the continued growth and evolution of the company following acquisitions and global expansion efforts;
- Building scalable legal processes, templates, playbooks, and governance frameworks; improving legal operational efficiency; and partnering with internal stakeholders to develop practical solutions that support business objectives while appropriately managing risk;
- Working effectively across Human Resources, Finance, Tax, Export Compliance, Internal Audit, Security, and business teams to provide timely, practical, and business-focused legal advice on a broad range of operational matters;
- Supporting other legal matters, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Applicable education and license to practice law;
- Approximately 5-8 years of experience at a law firm and/or as in-house counsel supporting multinational organizations;
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and operational legal support functions, including subsidiary governance, corporate secretarial matters, and legal entity management;
- Experience managing outside counsel and coordinating legal advice across multiple jurisdictions;
- Significant experience supporting employment law matters, HR-related issues, and global workforce management activities;
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
- Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills;
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities across a fast-paced global workplace;
- Sound business judgment and the ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice;
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting a U.S.-listed public company or advising multinational public-company clients;
- Experience supporting semiconductor, technology, software, electronics, manufacturing, or engineering-focused organizations;
- Experience supporting import/export compliance, sanctions compliance, or other international regulatory matters;
- Experience supporting post-acquisition integration activities, international workforce expansion, or other large-scale organizational growth initiatives;
- Prior in-house legal experience within a multinational company.
