Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test solutions across functional, regression, integration, and release testing efforts.
- Define and manage test plans, test strategies, quality metrics, and results reporting for moderate to complex initiatives.
- Review requirements, user stories, and technical work products to identify automation opportunities and ensure appropriate test coverage.
- Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to help protect data and technology solutions from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Establish and support test data, test environment, and release testing strategies in partnership with engineering, architecture, and infrastructure teams.
- Drive defect identification, tracking, triage, and resolution for moderate to complex issues, using critical thinking to remove blockers and improve product quality.
- Align automation solutions with enterprise automated testing reference architecture and release management governance.
- Promote a quality-first mindset by proactively managing leading indicators of quality while balancing speed, efficiency, and user experience.
- Serve as a technical lead and source of direction for associates across the team, helping raise automation maturity and engineering discipline.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for tooling, frameworks, CI/CD enablement, and quality engineering best practices.

As a Quality Engineer you will plan and conduct a wide range of software quality tests and analyses to ensure all application products and services meet organizational standards aligned to their quality management approach, as well as, end-user requirements.
Quality
Engineers perform our quality planning, quality design and execution.
You will focus on a blend of skills enabling productive execution of risk-based testing, test automation, performance testing, test data management, test environment management, continuous integration and continuous deployment all improving speed to delivery for our business partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees procedures to ensure all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.
- Serves as an expert in the analysis and reviews requirements, user stories and technical work products to create the automation needed.
- Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Defines and manages multiple test plans, strategies, results reporting and metrics.
- Uses the appropriate quality engineering tools to define test data management, test automation, security/vulnerability, performance, and regression testing needs.
- Manages moderate to complex defects including identifying, tracking, and providing critical thinking for resolution.
- Considers and drives the end users’ experience during the software development life cycle.
- Is proactive in managing leading indicators of quality in test plans and approaches while ensuring speed and efficiency.
- Partners with Infrastructure &
- Operations and Architecture on test data and environment management plans.
- Sets the release test strategy (including all release life cycle testing phases).
- Oversees the coordination of all release testing efforts (including all phases of testing during the release life cycle).
- Aligns with the Nationwide automated testing reference architecture.
- Complies with release management process governance and timelines throughout the release.
- Acts as a source of direction for associates.
- Additional responsibilities may include collaboration across teams and adherence to company standards.
Qualifications &
- Experience
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Education
Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications including TOSCA Automated Specialist 1 (AS1), TOSCA Automated Specialist 2 (AS2), or other related designations are preferred.
Experience
Six to eight years of experience with using test optimization and automation processed and tools. Demonstrated experience in testing for agile teams including planning, test plan creation, maintenance and execution. Good understanding of test automation and optimization throughout a stack and the tools to support.
