About the Role

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of Khel Mriga’s operations and city-wise growth. This person will work closely with the founders and oversee everything required to keep our existing cities running smoothly; from weekly schedules and venues to KapTaans, player experience and event execution.

With an ambitious expansion plan of launching in one new city every month, we are building Khel Mriga into a strong multi-city sports community across India.

This is not a typical desk-based operations role. It requires someone who enjoys being on the ground, working with people, solving problems quickly and building communities from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

- City Operations

- Oversee Khel Mriga’s day-to-day operations across all active cities.
- Ensure weekly sports schedules are planned and released on time.
- Coordinate with venues, coaches, referees, vendors and local teams.
- Track registrations, attendance, payments, refunds and event-level profitability.
- Ensure equipment and other operational requirements are available at every event.
- Handle last-minute changes related to venues, weather, participation or team availability.

2. KapTaan & Local Team Management
- Recruit, onboard and manage KapTaans across different cities.
- Assign KapTaans to weekly games and special events.
- Build dependable local teams capable of running city operations independently.
- Set clear operating processes and ensure they are followed consistently.
- Conduct regular reviews, training sessions and KapTaan meet-ups.
- Track KapTaan performance, participation and remuneration.

3. Event Execution & Player Experience
- Ensure every Khel Mriga game starts on time and is managed professionally.




- Maintain consistency in player communication, team division, rotations and fair play.
- Create a welcoming environment for beginners as well as regular players.
- Oversee championships, tournaments, launches and special sporting experiences.
- Collect feedback and resolve player concerns promptly.
- Make sure every participant leaves with a positive Khel Mriga experience.

4. City Growth & Expansion
- Research and evaluate potential cities for expansion.
- Understand local sports demand, suitable venues, pricing and competition.
- Build relationships with venue owners, sports professionals and community leaders.
- Recruit the first group of KapTaans and community members in each current city.
- Plan and execute city launches, from initial trials to a consistent weekly calendar.
- Develop each city towards operational stability and profitability.
- Identify which sports and formats are most likely to work in each market.

5. Community Growth
- Work with the marketing team to increase registrations and community participation.
- Grow and engage Khel Mriga’s city-wise WhatsApp communities.
- Identify opportunities for new sports, venues, formats and neighbourhoods.
- Build systems to improve repeat participation and player retention.
- Convert first-time participants into regular community members.
- Develop relationships with active players and recognise potential community leaders.

6. Systems, Data & Reporting
- Maintain city-wise operational dashboards and event trackers.
- Monitor registrations, attendance, repeat participation, revenue and costs.
- Prepare weekly city-performance reports for the founders.
- Create repeatable SOPs for games, KapTaans, launches, refunds and emergencies.
- Identify operational gaps and implement practical solutions.
- Standardise the Khel Mriga experience across every city.

- Ability to coordinate multiple cities, sports and events simultaneously.
- Comfortable working on the ground and solving problems in real time.
- Organised, dependable and attentive to small operational details.
- Comfortable working with numbers, trackers and basic profitability calculations.
- Able to build relationships with venues, players and local community leaders.
- Willing to work during evenings and weekends when most community events happen.
- Genuine interest in sports, fitness, communities or event management.

Preferred Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in operations, community management, events, hospitality.
- sports management or city expansion.
- Experience managing teams or multiple locations is preferred.
- Experience launching a new market, community or business vertical would be valuable.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Sheets, Forms and WhatsApp Community management.
- Prior experience in the sports industry is helpful, but not compulsory.

Within the first few months, this person should be able to:

- Run existing city operations with minimal founder involvement.
- Build a reliable and accountable network of KapTaans.
- Improve consistency, attendance and player experience across weekly games.
- Strengthen the performance and profitability of each active city.
- Establish clear systems that can be replicated across locations.
- Successfully plan and execute Khel Mriga’s entry into new cities.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
