Role Description The CNC Setter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Gummidipoondi. The CNC Setter will be responsible for setting up CNC machines according to job specifications, including selecting tools, loading programs, and adjusting machine parameters to achieve required tolerances. Daily tasks include interpreting engineering drawings, preparing raw materials, conducting trial runs, and performing inspections using measuring instruments to confirm dimensional accuracy.

The role involves monitoring machine operations, identifying and correcting deviations, performing basic maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication, and reporting any mechanical or process issues to supervisors.



The CNC Setter will also collaborate with production and quality teams to meet output targets, maintain a secure working environment, and contribute to continuous improvement in machining processes.

Qualifications

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and CNC programs; strong understanding of machining principles and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience setting and operating CNC machines (lathe, milling, or turning centers), including tooling selection, workpiece setup, and parameter optimization.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, and dial indicators to verify part accuracy and maintain quality standards.
- Knowledge of shop floor safety practices, machine maintenance basics, and troubleshooting methods for common mechanical and process issues.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions, document work, and coordinate with production and quality teams.
- Relevant technical qualification such as ITI, Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering, or equivalent experience in CNC machining.
- Willingness to work on-site in Gummidipoondi, follow shift schedules, and adapt to production requirements.
- Experience in industrial automation or precision engineering environments is an advantage.
