About the role

We're hiring a Cinematographer based in Mumbai to anchor the visual quality of everything we shoot brand films, TVCs, documentaries, performance ads, OOH and website photography, and high-grade social content for our 120+ schools across India. You'll work across the full spectrum, from fully-resourced film sets to lean, run-and-gun days, and we expect the imagery to look considered either way.

This is a craft-first role. We want someone whose lighting, framing, and colour instincts have been sharpened on real film or ad sets, and who brings a working network of vendors and crew with them.

What you'll do

- Shoot brand films, TVCs, documentaries, ads, and stills across our schools and campaigns.
- Own the look lighting design, lensing, blocking, and on-set colour decisions — and protect it through post.
- Lead on set: direct gaffers, focus pullers, and assistants; make fast, decisive calls when conditions change.
- Plan productions end-to-end: recces, shot lists, lighting diagrams, kit lists, and day breakdowns.
- Tap your vendor and freelance network to assemble the right crew and kit for each shoot, at the right cost.
- Partner with our editors and colourists in post; supervise the grade where needed.
- Mentor our in-house cinematographers and lift the overall craft standard of the team.

What you bring Camera & format fluency

- Hands-on experience across industry-standard systems — ARRI (Alexa Mini / LF), RED, Blackmagic,



and Sony mirrorless / cine bodies.
- Comfortable choosing the right camera for the brief, not defaulting to one.
- Solid working knowledge of lenses, filtration, and codecs.

Lighting & visual craft

- Film- or advertising-level lighting craft — motivated sources, controlled contrast, considered separation between subject and background.
- A clear point of view on framing and composition; an eye that holds up at TVC quality.
- Genuine sense of taste for colour science — clean skin tones, intentional palette, awareness of how on-set decisions translate in DaVinci.

Production

- Production-level experience on commercial sets, ad films, or feature/documentary work.
- Comfortable scaling from full-crew shoots to lean two-person setups without losing quality.
- An active network of vendors and freelancers in Mumbai — camera rentals, gaffers, focus pullers, grip houses, casting contacts. You know who to call.

Bonus (significantly valued, not mandatory)

- Editing chops in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve.
- Colour-grading experience in Resolve.
- A reel or portfolio that includes work for brands, agencies, or recognised production houses.
