Kumar Polythene Industries is looking for an experienced Tender & Institutional Business Consultant to help us identify, apply for and secure large-value tenders, institutional orders and supply contracts for our range of polythene sheets, pond liners and related products.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced professional looking for a flexible part-time engagement or secondary source of income.
Who We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience dealing with:
- Government departments and government organisations
- Government tenders and e-procurement portals
- PSU / institutional procurement
- Large corporate purchase departments
- Tender documentation and submission
- Vendor registration and empanelment
- Rate contracts and supply contracts
- Government purchase orders
- Quotations, comparative statements and negotiations
- EMD, tender fees, security deposits and related procedures
- Following up with purchasing/procurement departments
Age is not a restriction. Retired or semi-retired professionals with relevant experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Candidates from backgrounds such as government offices, banks, PSUs, procurement departments, administration, accounts, clerical roles or institutional purchasing may be particularly suitable, provided they have practical experience with tendering or procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities The consultant will be responsible for:
- Identifying relevant tenders
- Search and identify suitable tenders, rate contracts and institutional requirements.
- Identify opportunities where our products can be supplied.
- Tender Application & Documentation
- Study tender requirements and eligibility criteria.
- Coordinate preparation and submission of tender documents.
- Ensure documents are complete and submitted within deadlines.
- Track EMD, tender fees, certificates and other requirements.
- Government & Institutional Business Development
- Identify departments, PSUs,
institutions and large organisations that regularly purchase relevant products.
- Explore vendor registration and empanelment opportunities.
- Develop institutional supply opportunities beyond individual tenders.
- Follow-up & Coordination
- Follow up with relevant departments and procurement authorities.
- Track tender status, technical evaluation, commercial evaluation and purchase orders.
- Coordinate with our internal team for pricing, product specifications and documentation.
- Contract & Order Acquisition
- Assist in converting successful tenders into purchase orders, rate contracts and long-term supply arrangements.
- Identify repeat and recurring procurement opportunities.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should have:
- Proven practical experience in tendering/procurement
- Good understanding of government or institutional purchasing procedures
- Experience using e-procurement/tender portals
- Ability to independently read and understand tender documents
- Strong documentation and follow-up skills
- Good communication and negotiation ability
- Basic computer and internet skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Existing knowledge/network in government, PSU or institutional procurement will be a major advantage

Location: Mysore Road, Bengaluru The role does not necessarily require full-time office attendance. Depending on the candidate's experience and working arrangement, much of the work can be handled independently with coordination with our office.
Compensation
Negotiable based on experience and engagement model.

Important
This is not a conventional field-sales job.
We are specifically looking for someone who already understands how large tenders, government procurement and institutional contracts actually work and can independently identify opportunities, prepare applications and follow them through to completion.
