Summary:

UST is looking for Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, and AWS to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with enterprise-grade backend systems, microservices, API-driven architectures, and AWS cloud services, along with strong software engineering and problem-solving skills.

The Opportunity:

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Build, integrate, and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS services.
- Design secure, resilient, highly available, and high-performing backend systems.
- Apply software design patterns, clean code principles, and backend architecture best practices.
- Participate in technical design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring system stability and availability.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams.




- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Solid expertise in REST API development and API-driven architectures.
- Proven experience developing microservices-based applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, such as: AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, software design patterns, scalability, and system design.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Strong understanding of secure, reliable, and high-performance backend development.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving production-level technical issues.

Desired Skills:

- Experience with Kotlin.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka, Amazon SNS, and Amazon SQS.
- Experience with observability, logging, monitoring, and application performance tools.
- Experience developing serverless applications.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Qualification:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.




- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Equivalent professional experience with strong hands-on backend development expertise may be considered.
