Employment Type: [Full-Time / Contract]
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Azure Fabric and Copilot Skill Developer to design, build, and deploy end-to-end data and AI solutions using Microsoft Fabric and extend Copilot capabilities through custom skills, plugins, and agent-based integrations. The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering expertise with hands-on experience building generative AI extensions on the Microsoft ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement lakehouse, data warehouse, and pipeline architectures in Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Notebooks, Lakehouse/Warehouse items).
Develop, test, and deploy custom Copilot skills/plugins (Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility, declarative agents, and API-based plugins).
Build semantic models and Power BI datasets on top of Fabric for Copilot-driven natural language querying.
Integrate Copilot skills with enterprise data sources (Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, REST APIs, Azure AI Search).
Implement Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI Service integrations for grounding, RAG pipelines, and prompt orchestration.
Set up CI/CD pipelines for Fabric artifacts and Copilot extensions using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Apply data governance, security, and access control (Microsoft Purview, workspace roles, sensitivity labels) across Fabric workloads.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into Copilot skill specifications and Fabric data models.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance and Copilot skill accuracy/latency.
Document architecture, skill manifests, and integration patterns for handover and maintenance.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years in data engineering/cloud development, with at least 1–2 years hands-on with Microsoft Fabric and Copilot Studio / M365 Copilot extensibility.
Robust command of Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Fabric pipelines, PySpark/Spark SQL, and T-SQL.
Experience building Copilot plugins/skills using declarative agents, API plugins, or Teams AI Library.
Working knowledge of Azure OpenAI Service, prompt engineering, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns.
Familiarity with Power BI semantic modeling and DAX.
Experience with Dataverse, Power Platform connectors, or Power Automate is a plus.
Understanding of OneLake security, workspace governance, and Microsoft Purview.
Proficiency in Python and/or C# for custom connector/plugin development.
Experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub for CI/CD of data and AI artifacts.
Strong communication skills to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred / Advantageous
Microsoft certifications: DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer), PL-400/PL-600, or AI-102.
Prior experience building agentic AI solutions or integrating LLM-based copilots into enterprise workflows.
Exposure to other low-code/agent platforms (e.g., Boomi AgentStudio) is a plus.
