Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture & Design
- Design end-to-end AWS cloud architecture for ingesting, processing, storing, and serving IoT data at scale.
- Architect real-time, near real-time, and batch data processing pipelines using AWS native services.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, security guidelines, and best practices for cloud-native development.
- Build scalable microservices and APIs to expose processed data to internal and external consumers.
1. IoT Data Ingestion & Processing
- Design data ingestion layers using services such as:
- AWS IoT Core, AWS IoT Greengrass, MQTT, Kinesis Data Streams, Kafka (MSK).
- Architect and implement streaming and batch processing workflows using:
- AWS Lambda, Kinesis Data Analytics, AWS Glue, AWS Step Functions, EMR, or Apache Spark.
- Build faulttolerant, eventdriven data pipelines and message flows.
1. Data Storage & Management
- Architect data storage layers optimized for speed, scale, and cost:
- S3 Data Lake, DynamoDB, RDS, Redshift, OpenSearch, TimeStream (for IoT time-series data).
- Implement data modeling, schema design, data partitioning, and lifecycle management strategies.
- Ensure data security, privacy compliance, and encryption across all layers.
1. API & Services Platform
- Design and build REST and/or GraphQL APIs using:
- API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS microservices.
- Create secure service interfaces for data consumers such as digital apps, dashboards, analytics,
and OEM partners.
- Implement API rate limiting, versioning, throttling, and monitoring.
1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, IoT firmware teams, data science, cybersecurity, product managers, and external partners.
- Translate business requirements into technical architecture and deliver high-quality solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with 5+ years handson in AWS.
- Strong experience in designing largescale distributed systems, data pipelines, and microservices.
- Solid understanding of IoT architectures, communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, OPC-UA), and telemetry data.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS services across compute, storage, networking, IoT, analytics, and security.
- Robust experience with Python, Java, or Node.js for cloud engineering.
- Proven experience with DevOps, CI/CD, containerization (Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication and solution architecture documentation skills.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS IoT Specialty are preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in automotive, industrial IoT, telematics, or manufacturing systems.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, edge processing, timeseries data, or digital twins.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and MDM.
