Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Automation Test Engineer to design and deliver reliable automation for web applications and APIs. This role will focus on Playwright-based UI automation, REST API testing, reusable framework development, and continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable Playwright automation frameworks for web applications.
- Develop automated UI, API, regression, smoke, and integration tests.
- Create reusable Page Object Models, fixtures, utilities, and reporting patterns.
- Validate REST API functionality, data integrity, business rules, and response performance.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support reliable release validation.
- Review test results, investigate failures, document defects clearly, and partner with engineering teams to resolve issues.
Required Technical Skills
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright automation.
- Strong programming skills in Java
- Experience with Page Object Models, cross-browser testing, parallel execution, fixtures, hooks, and test reporting.
- Solid experience with REST API testing and API automation.
- Working knowledge of OAuth, JWT, bearer tokens, JSON/XML validation, and contract testing concepts.
- Experience with tools such as Postman, Bruno, Swagger/OpenAPI, Playwright API testing,
and Newman.
- Working knowledge of Git, SQL, and Node.js.
Application and Backend Testing Experience
- Experience validating API integrations, backend workflows, and data flows across distributed systems.
- Understanding of microservices communication patterns and service-to-service integrations.
- Ability to troubleshoot API and application issues in Go, PHP, or similar backend environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and cloud-based platforms such as AWS.
- Understanding of performance testing, security testing, and quality engineering best practices.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- REST Assured or similar API automation tools.
- Contract testing with Pact or similar frameworks.
- BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar cross-browser testing platforms.
- Familiarity with Go or PHP application architectures.
- Experience testing banking, payments, healthcare, or other regulated applications.
Experience - 8+ Years Shift Timings - 11 AM - 8 PM
Location - Chennai
Location expectations This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week
