What You'll Own

- Lead formal QA/UAT validation on the Lease Accounting Tool: convert the existing dev-side evidence (Unit, Integration, Exception, Edge Case, and Lease Calculation Test Reports) into a signed-off UAT record with business reviewer sign-off.
- Coordinate and document the external GASB 96 benchmark validation — currently the tool's only unresolved accounting-engine gap.
- Build the Book Close Agent's first formal Testing Report and Production Readiness Report — this application currently has zero equivalent documentation despite being architecturally complete.
- Design and maintain automated test suites (pytest for backend, appropriate frontend testing for React/Vite) and wire them into the CI pipeline (in partnership with the incoming DevOps hire).
- Own regression testing for every bug-fix cycle, following the Issue-vs-Resolved comparison methodology already established on the Lease tool (pre-fix vs post-fix output diffing across fiscal periods).




- Run REST API test suites (a 20-request Postman collection already exists for the Lease tool, covering auth, clients, leases, admin, and reports) and extend equivalent coverage to Book Close Agent's FastAPI endpoints.
- Track and close out flagged 'confirm intent' items (e.g. rollforward sign convention, finance-column suppression) by looping in business/accounting reviewers.
- Maintain a defect tracking and severity classification process (Critical/High/Medium/Low) consistent with what's used in the current Production Readiness Report.

Must-Have Skills

- Hands-on API testing experience (Postman or equivalent) — able to read and extend existing collections
- Experience writing and maintaining automated test suites (pytest strongly preferred; Python required)
- Comfort with financial/data reconciliation-style testing — comparing structured Excel outputs (openpyxl/pandas) across before/after states
- Ability to write explicit formal test/QA reports for non-technical stakeholders (auditors, accountants, leadership)
- Understanding of RBAC/auth testing (role-based access, JWT, API-key least-privilege patterns)

Nice to Have

- Prior exposure to lease accounting, GASB/ASC standards, or general-ledger/trial-balance concepts
- Experience with security-adjacent testing (auth flows, rate limiting, CSP headers) — not required but a plus given both tools handle financial data
- Familiarity with MongoDB-backed applications
