CAD Draftsman – Architectural Lighting

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare lighting layouts and technical drawings in AutoCAD.
- Develop lighting plans, reflected ceiling plans, sections and elevations.
- Prepare fixture locations, mounting details and installation details.
- Develop and maintain drawing sets according to project requirements.
- Coordinate lighting drawings with architectural, interior and electrical drawings.
- Read and interpret architectural and interior-design drawings.
- Maintain organised layers, blocks, Xrefs, line weights, dimensions and annotations.
- Prepare drawing sheets for issue and maintain proper title blocks and revisions.
- Incorporate design changes and revisions accurately and efficiently.
- Assist the design team in preparing fixture schedules and drawing documentation.
- Review drawings for accuracy, consistency and completeness before issue.
- Coordinate with designers and project teams to resolve drawing-related requirements.
- Maintain an organised digital drawing library and project documentation.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
- Ability to read and understand architectural and interior drawings.
- Good understanding of plans, sections, elevations and reflected ceiling plans.
- Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.
- Good understanding of layers, blocks, Xrefs and drawing standards.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.




- Ability to understand instructions and translate them accurately into drawings.
- Good organisational and documentation skills.

Positive to Have:

- Experience working with architectural, interior, electrical or lighting drawings.
- Knowledge of architectural lighting or electrical layouts.
- Experience coordinating drawings with multiple consultants.
- Knowledge of Photoshop, SketchUp or other design software.
- Basic understanding of lighting fixtures and lighting terminology.
- Experience working on hospitality, residential, commercial or luxury projects.

Education A degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with strong AutoCAD skills and relevant drafting experience are encouraged to apply.

Experience

1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Freshers with exceptionally strong AutoCAD skills and a good understanding of architectural drawings may also be considered.
