Company Description The Voice Bank is a Mumbai-based audio and dubbing studio that has specialized in finding the right voice for every project for over 15 years. Founded in the early days of India’s advertising boom by writer and speaker K.

Sethuraman and Sundar Sethuraman, the company quickly expanded from advertising into television dubbing for major serials on Doordarshan. Over time, The Voice Bank became a trusted vendor for global media brands such as Walt Disney, Cartoon Network, and Discovery Channel, supporting regional language expansion across India. The team has also coordinated voices and dubbing for high-profile projects including BBC’s acclaimed series “Jasoos Vijay” and notable Hollywood films like “Lion Heart” and the “Terminator” series.

Applicants joining The Voice Bank will be part of a studio with deep expertise in voice-based storytelling and a strong legacy in Indian and international media.

Role Description The Audio Play Writer is a full-time, on-site role based at The Voice Bank’s studio in Mumbai. This role involves writing original audio play scripts, adapting existing stories for audio formats, and crafting dialogue that showcases character, emotion, and dramatic tension for voice performance.

The writer will collaborate closely with directors, voice artists, and sound engineers to refine scripts for recording, ensuring pacing, structure, and sound cues translate effectively in the studio environment. Daily tasks include brainstorming concepts, outlining episodes,



revising scripts based on feedback, and aligning content with project briefs, target audiences, and language requirements. The role may also involve researching settings and characters, creating documentation for dubbing and localization, and supporting quality control during script read-throughs and recording sessions.

Qualifications

- Solid creative writing and scriptwriting skills for audio or dramatic formats, with the ability to craft engaging dialogue and clear narrative structure.
- Experience in storytelling for radio, podcasts, audio dramas, or dubbing environments, including writing with sound design, timing, and voice performance in mind.
- Excellent command of English and at least one Indian language (such as Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu); ability to write and adapt content across cultures and regions is an advantage.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with directors, producers, and voice artists, incorporating feedback and working within production timelines and constraints.
- Strong research and documentation skills to develop authentic characters, settings, and plots that suit diverse genres and target audiences.
- Prior experience in advertising, television, film, radio, or digital media writing is preferred; familiarity with dubbing and localization workflows is a plus.
- Attention to detail, strong time management, and capacity to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced studio environment.
