Role Description The Associate Editor role is a remote position responsible for supporting the editorial process and maintaining the quality and integrity of published content. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing manuscript submissions, coordinating peer review, communicating with authors and reviewers, and providing editorial decisions in alignment with journal policies.

Editor will review and evaluate scientific manuscripts for clarity, rigor, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The role also involves copyediting and ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines, formatting standards, and referencing styles.

Editor will collaborate closely with the Editor-in-Chief and editorial board to improve workflows and contribute to the journal’s strategic development.

Qualifications

- Strong scientific background in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences (e.g., pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, biotechnology, or related fields).
- Experience with academic publishing processes, including peer review, manuscript evaluation, and handling of research and review articles.
- Excellent skills in scientific writing, copyediting, and proofreading, with attention to detail and consistency in language and style.
- Familiarity with research ethics, publication standards, and referencing formats (e.g., APA, Vancouver, or similar citation styles).
- Ability to critically appraise experimental design, data presentation, and statistical reporting in scientific manuscripts.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple submissions and deadlines in a remote setting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with authors, reviewers, and editorial team members across different regions.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, pharmacy, or a closely related discipline; prior editorial or reviewing experience is highly desirable.
- Comfort with online journal management systems and basic digital tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, reference managers).
