Role Description The Assistant Store Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru, responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of Subko's specialty coffee, bakehouse, and fine cacao retail outlet. The role ensures smooth store operations, exceptional guest experiences, and effective team supervision while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and operational excellence.

The Assistant Store Manager assists in achieving sales targets, managing inventory, maintaining visual merchandising standards, supervising daily store activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and SOPs. This role plays a key part in coaching and motivating team members, resolving guest concerns, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and craftsmanship.

The position requires active floor leadership, operational efficiency, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth opening and closing procedures.
- Supervise and guide the floor team to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain Subko's hospitality standards.




- Monitor daily sales performance and contribute towards achieving revenue and operational targets.
- Ensure product quality, presentation, cleanliness, and visual merchandising standards are consistently maintained.
- Assist in inventory management, stock replenishment, ordering, and minimizing inventory variance and shrinkage.
- Monitor cash handling procedures, POS operations, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Support staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, and workforce planning.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members on customer service, operational procedures, and product knowledge.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and create memorable customer experiences.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and operational SOPs.
- Coordinate with central support teams for maintenance, procurement, and operational requirements.
- Support retail loss prevention initiatives through accurate inventory control and operational discipline.
- Maintain accurate operational records and assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service and guest relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in retail store operations, hospitality, café, bakery, or food & beverage management.
- Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, merchandising, and cash handling procedures.
- Solid leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and develop team members.
- Ability to handle customer concerns professionally and make sound operational decisions.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with POS systems, retail reporting, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in retail, hospitality, café, bakery, QSR, or premium food & beverage operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leadership role preferred.
