About the Role

Illinois Tech is seeking an Assistant Manager / Manager – Industry Relations & Corporate Engagement to support the development and execution of the University’s corporate engagement, internship, and career services initiatives. The role will work closely with the Head – Industry Relations & Corporate Engagement to build employer relationships, coordinate campus recruitment activities, facilitate experiential learning opportunities, and enhance student employability.

This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys building relationships with industry, managing multiple stakeholders, and delivering high-quality career services in a rapid-paced academic environment.

Key Responsibilities





- Build and nurture relationships with corporate partners, startups, industry bodies, and recruiters to create internship and placement opportunities.
- Support employer outreach initiatives, including identifying prospective organizations, scheduling meetings, and maintaining ongoing engagement.
- Coordinate internship, live project, campus recruitment, and placement activities from planning through execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for recruiters during hiring engagements and campus recruitment drives.
- Organize employer engagement events including networking sessions, guest lectures, industry talks, career fairs, panel discussions, and recruitment drives.
- Support student career development initiatives including resume reviews, interview preparation, career workshops, and employability programs.
- Maintain and regularly update employer databases, recruitment pipelines, placement statistics, and engagement dashboards.
- Track placement metrics and generate reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with academic departments to identify industry collaboration opportunities, capstone projects, and experiential learning initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal teams including Admissions, Student Affairs, Marketing, Academic Services, and Faculty to ensure seamless execution of career services activities.
- Assist in strengthening alumni engagement by coordinating mentorship initiatives and networking opportunities.
- Stay informed on industry hiring trends,



emerging sectors, and labour market developments to support employer engagement strategies.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with institutional policies for all recruitment and internship processes.
- Represent Illinois Tech Mumbai at corporate networking events, industry forums, and professional associations as required.

Qualifications

- Master’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Education, or a related discipline.
- Assistant Manager: 4–8 years of relevant experience in placements, corporate relations, business development, recruitment, or career services.
- Manager: 7–10 years of relevant experience, preferably within higher education, executive education, consulting, or talent acquisition.

- Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- High level of professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working with universities, business schools, edtech organizations, executive education providers, or recruitment firms.
- Existing network with recruiters, HR leaders, and corporate partners across technology, consulting, finance, manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Familiarity with career services platforms, applicant tracking systems, or CRM tools.
