Roles and Responsibilities:

A. VENDOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT -

Vendor Qualification:

- Evaluate recent raw material vendors through audits, documentation reviews, and risk assessments.

- Ensure suppliers meet GFSI, FSMA, or local food safety requirements.

Supplier Audits &

- Assessments-

- Plan, conduct, and document supplier audits (onsite or remote).

- Monitor food safety, sanitation, traceability, and GMP compliance.

Document Control &

- Compliance

- Collect and manage supplier documents: HACCP plans, COAs, allergen declarations, traceability records, certifications (BRC, SQF, ISO 22000).

Performance Monitoring

- Track supplier performance: product quality, delivery compliance, complaint trends.

- Develop &
- Maintain supplier scorecards.

Corrective Actions &

- CAPA

- Investigate non-conformances and food safety issues.

- Coordinate corrective/preventive action plans with vendors.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work with procurement, R&D;, production, and QA teams.

- Support NPD (new product development) by verifying new ingredient or packaging vendors.

Regulatory &

Certification Support

- Ensure vendor compliance with applicable food regulations

B. FOOD LAWS &

- REGULATIONS AND LM (LEGAL METROLOGY) -

- Knowledge of Food Science/ Nutrition science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Life science

- Knowledge of Food Regulations (FSSAI) &
- FSSAI Act (including Food licensing).

- Knowledge APEDA, Foods Import regulations etc.





- Basic knowledge of Global Food regulations such as- BIS, CODEX, USFDA, EU, FSANZ, GSO etc. to ensure the compliance of respective food categories.

- Knowledge of Food Safety Management system/ VEGAN/ORGANIC/ etc.

- Knowledge of Product &

- Ensure- label Nutritional Information &
- Artwork

- Responsible for going through each FSSAIs draft and providing comments/ suggestions/ Representation keeping in mind the interest of the organization.

- Assistance &

- Communication for the resolution of consumer complaints/Market complaints related to FSSAI by providing necessary info/ certifications.

- Dossier & documentation preparation for various forums like CII, FICCI and other Export/Import related issues on behalf of the organization.

- Basic knowledge of LM (PCR) rules, Weight & measurement Act and other OIML.

- Assistance & support for Labelling, Weights & measurement for Domestic & exports product categories.

- Know about the role of Consumer affairs (Consumer Protection Act) ASCI in Food Industry.

- R ding scientific reasoning to various regulations/project an industry point of view by discussing with industry peers and internal key stakeholders on various legislations.

Qualification:

- Bachelor/ Masters degree in Life science/ Food science/ food Technology/Nutrition science/ Regulations

- Good verbal & written Communication skills

- Good Presentation skills

- Inter-communication skills
