Summary

As an Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting business-critical applications hosted on Akamai Edge Platform. The role involves configuring and managing Edge Computing, CDN, Caching, Core Networking, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and monitoring tools to ensure high availability, security, and optimal application performance.

You will act as a software detective by proactively monitoring application health, investigating incidents, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable and secure application services.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Configure and manage Akamai Edge Computing, including content delivery, caching, and edge configuration.
- Administer and troubleshoot Akamai CDN services to optimize application performance and availability.
- Configure and manage Web Application Firewall (WAF) policies to protect applications from security threats.
- Monitor application health using Splunk dashboards, alerts, and logs, and perform root cause analysis for production incidents.
- Troubleshoot networking and application delivery issues related to Core Networking, CDN, DNS, SSL/TLS, and Edge services.
- Perform application configuration, incident resolution, and production support activities.
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, security, and networking teams for issue resolution.
- Support API integrations by understanding API flows,



request/response patterns, and troubleshooting high-level API-related issues.
- Document incident resolutions, configuration changes, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to automation, process improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Participate in on-call support and production incident management activities.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions. Professional & Technical Skills:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience supporting Akamai Edge Platform.
- Hands-on experience in:
- Akamai Edge Computing
- Akamai CDN
- Edge Configuration
- Content Caching
- Strong understanding of:
- Core Networking (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS)
- Web Application Firewall (WAF) administration and policy management
- Production application support and incident management
- Experience using Splunk for:
- Dashboard monitoring
- Alert configuration
- Log analysis
- Incident troubleshooting
- High-level understanding of REST APIs and API troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a 24x7 production support environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have
- Experience with Akamai security products.
- Knowledge of CDN optimization techniques.
- Exposure to ITIL Incident & Problem Management.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
- Basic scripting knowledge (Shell/Python) for automation.
- Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is an advantage.

Additional Information
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Akamai Edge Platform / Edge Computing.
- Experience in configuring Edge Computing, CDN, Caching, WAF, Core Networking, and Splunk Monitoring is mandatory.
- Candidate should possess a high-level understanding of API integrations.
- Position is based at Mumbai.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
