Job Summary The Costing Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for automation projects, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), robotic systems and manufacturing solutions. The role involves analyzing technical specifications, evaluating rate for machined parts, co-ordinating with design and procurement teams and supporting proposal preparation to ensure competitive and profitable project quotations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for SPMs, robotic systems, assembly lines, and manufacturing solutions.
- Analyze technical drawings, BOMs, RFQs, and customer specifications to determine project costs.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Project teams to obtain accurate cost inputs.
- Estimate material, manufacturing, labour, assembly, installation, and commissioning costs.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations for bought-out and machined parts.
- Develop and maintain costing databases, standard cost sheets, and pricing models.
- Support proposal and sales teams in preparing techno-commercial offers.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and value engineering to optimize project profitability.
- Track actual project costs against estimates and identify cost variances.
- Ensure compliance with company costing standards, policies,



and procedures.
- Support budgeting activities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in costing, estimation, proposal engineering, or commercial engineering within industrial automation, SPM, automotive, or manufacturing industries. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, assembly, and automation systems.
- Experience in preparing cost estimates for SPMs, robotic systems, conveyor systems, and industrial automation projects.
- Knowledge of BOM analysis, material costing, and vendor costing.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics or similar).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of value engineering and cost optimization techniques.
