Application Engineer - Machine Tools - SPM - Went India Limited

Role Overview

This role involves conducting application feasibility studies, developing technical solutions for machines, and supporting both existing and new product development.

Key responsibilities include preparing technical documents, troubleshooting processes, and performing component trials and machine commissioning. The candidate will collaborate closely with customers, travel to different locations, and represent the company at exhibitions. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in engineering and electrical concepts, and knowledge of manufacturing processes are essential.

Effective technical communication and hands-on expertise in tools like Microsoft Office are critical for success.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct feasibility studies on machine applications and provide technical presentations to customers both online and offline.

- Develop applications for existing machines and assist in current product development projects.

- Prepare technical documentation, including offers, control plans, capability studies, cycle time studies, and CPC analysis.

- Perform component trials, prove-outs, and machine commissioning tasks.

- Troubleshoot machines and resolve process-related issues efficiently.

- Align and optimize machines for operational efficiency at customer sites.

- Represent the company in exhibitions and industry events.

- Maintain effective technical communication with customers to address queries and provide solutions.

- Travel to various customer locations for on-site support and collaboration.





- Utilize analytical skills to study engineering drawings, electrical circuits, and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience: Minimum 6 to 8 years in Machine Tools, preferably with experience in grinding machines or Special Purpose Machines.

Educational Background: BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with a background in Machine Tools Design (Grinding Machines) preferred.

Skills

- Engineering and Electrical Knowledge - Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical circuits.

- CNC Programming Expertise - Proficiency in part programming, especially with Fanuc and Siemens controls.

- Manufacturing Process Understanding - Knowledge of metal cutting, grinding, and tool/fixture development.

- Analytical Problem-Solving - Skills in troubleshooting machines, performing cycle time studies, and SPC analysis.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Capability to use tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for documentation and communication.

- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
