Job Title: API Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled API Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in designing,
developing, and managing APIs on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Azure integration services, REST APIs, API security, and
Azure API Management (APIM). Experience working on BFSI projects involving secure integrations and enterprise-grade APIs is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain secure RESTful APIs using Azure services.
Build and manage APIs using Azure API Management (APIM).
Develop serverless integrations using Azure Functions.
Implement authentication and authorization using Azure Active Directory
(Azure AD).
Secure application secrets, certificates, and keys using Azure Key Vault.
Create and maintain OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications and API documentation.
Design scalable and reusable integration architectures for enterprise applications.
Implement API monitoring, logging, diagnostics, and performance optimization.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and solution architects to deliver integration solutions.
Troubleshoot API issues and optimize application performance.
Ensure APIs comply with BFSI security, governance, and compliance standards.
Required Skills
Strong experience with Azure Functions
Hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM)
Expertise in REST API design and development
Experience creating and maintaining OpenAPI (Swagger) Specifications
Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Authentication
Experience with Azure Key Vault
Understanding of Integration Architecture and API best practices
Experience in Monitoring & Logging using Azure Monitor, Application
Insights, or Log Analytics
Strong understanding of API security concepts (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API
Gateway, Authentication & Authorization)
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Exposure to Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies.
Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and cloud-native application development.
Microsoft Azure certifications are an added advantage.
Mandatory Requirements
2–3 years of experience in API development and Azure Integration.
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
Experience in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) domain.
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Available to join immediately or within a short notice period is preferred.
