Not only are they a treat for the taste buds, but they also offer a nutritious boost, packed with plant-based protein from chickpeas, complemented by a wealth of essential vitamins and minerals.

Fresh herbs including parsley, cilantro and dill are essential in this recipe and should not be substituted. They add vibrant color and flavor to the falafel and may help to reduce bloating and promote heart health.

For the falafel batter, you’ll need to start by soaking dried chickpeas for several hours, so plan ahead. The good news? The batter freezes beautifully, offering the convenience of enjoying homemade falafel whenever the craving strikes.
