1. JOB PURPOSE
The Finance & Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing the complete finance, accounting, taxation, working capital and financial control functions of the business. The role requires a strong understanding of a manufacturing and FMCG environment, with particular focus on customer receivables, vendor payables, inventory accounting, raw-material consumption, production costing, COGS, profitability, cash-flow management and statutory compliance.
The candidate will work closely with Sales, Production, Inventory, Purchase, Dispatch and Management to ensure that financial information is accurate, timely and useful for decision-making.
The role is expected to provide management with clear visibility on:

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Accounting & Financial Control
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations of the company.
- Ensure accurate recording of all sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments.
- Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
- Ensure timely posting and reconciliation of accounting transactions.
- Review journal entries, provisions, accruals and adjustments.
- Maintain proper accounting documentation and supporting records.
- Ensure proper accounting controls are followed across departments.
- Conduct monthly closing of books.
- Identify and rectify accounting discrepancies.
B. Accounts Receivable & Customer Collections Take complete ownership of the company's customer receivables and collection process.
Responsibilities include
- Prepare customer-wise outstanding reports.
- Monitor invoice generation and submission.
- Track invoice due dates.
- Follow up with customers for overdue payments.
- Maintain ageing reports.
- Identify invoices under dispute or pending for documentation.
- Coordinate with Sales/Customer Service for payment issues.
- Prepare daily/weekly collection reports.
- Maintain customer-wise credit limits and payment terms.
- Escalate long-pending receivables to management.
- Ensure timely receipt and accounting of customer payments.
- Maintain proper payment mapping against invoices.
Special focus should be given to large institutional customers such as hotels, restaurants, retailers and corporate accounts.
1. Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
- Maintain vendor-wise outstanding reports.
- Verify vendor invoices before payment processing.
- Match invoices with purchase orders, GRNs and supporting documents wherever applicable.
- Track payment due dates.
- Prepare weekly payment schedules.
- Prioritize payments based on cash-flow availability and business requirements.
- Coordinate with Purchase/Warehouse regarding invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure vendor advances are properly accounted for and adjusted.
- Reconcile vendor statements regularly.
- Identify old/unadjusted advances and open items.
- Ensure statutory deductions such as TDS are correctly accounted for.
1. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
The Finance & Accounts Manager will be responsible for maintaining solid control over the company's daily cash flow and working capital.
Responsibilities include
- Prepare daily cash and bank position.
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts.
- Track expected customer collections.
- Plan vendor and statutory payments.
- Monitor working-capital requirements.
- Identify potential cash shortages in advance.
- Monitor bank balances and payment commitments.
- Control unnecessary cash outflows.
- Track advances and deposits.
- Prepare management cash-flow reports.
The manager should always be able to answer: How much cash is available today, how much is expected to come in, how much needs to be paid, and what will the cash position look like over the next 7, 15 and 30 days?
1. Inventory Accounting & Control
Work closely with Production, Purchase and Inventory teams to maintain accurate financial control over inventory.

- Identify excess, slow-moving, damaged and obsolete inventory.
- Analyse inventory variances.
- Review material consumption against production.
- Review wastage and production losses.
- Coordinate monthly physical stock verification.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment for stock adjustments.
1. Product Costing & COGS
A critical responsibility of this position is to maintain accurate product-level costing. Prepare and monitor SKU-wise:
- Raw-material cost
- Packaging cost
- Direct labour cost
- Manufacturing overhead
- Production wastage
- Processing loss
- Yield variance
- Cost per bottle
- Cost per litre
- Cost per batch
Monitor actual cost against standard/BOM cost.
Analyse
Standard Cost vs Actual Cost and identify major variances.
Work with Production and Purchase teams to understand changes in:
- Fruit prices
- Yield
- Packaging prices
- Labour
- Production wastage
- Other manufacturing costs
1. Profitability & Margin Analysis
Prepare profitability reports at:
- Product/SKU level
- Customer level
- Channel level
- Month level
- Product category level
Analyse: Sales Net Sales COGS Gross Profit Gross Margin Operating Expenses EBITDA / Operating Profit
Identify
- Low-margin products
- Low-margin customers
- High-cost SKUs
- Pricing issues
- Excess discounts
- High delivery costs
- Abnormal production costs
Provide actionable insights to management.
1. Sales Accounting
- Ensure all sales invoices are generated accurately and on time.
- Verify customer-wise pricing and applicable taxes.
- Verify credit notes and debit notes.
- Reconcile sales with dispatch records.
- Reconcile sales with customer statements.
- Ensure cancelled/rejected deliveries are properly accounted for.
- Review daily sales reports.
- Ensure sales data is correctly captured in the accounting system.
1. Purchase Accounting
- Verify purchase invoices against approved purchase orders and material receipts.
- Check quantities, rates, taxes and vendor details.
- Record purchases accurately and on time.
- Reconcile purchase records with inventory receipts.
- Identify purchase price variances.
- Monitor raw-material and packaging purchase costs.
- Provide management with vendor-wise purchase price analysis.
1. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance
Ensure timely and accurate compliance with applicable statutory requirements, including:
- GST
- TDS
- Professional Tax, where applicable
- PF/ESIC, where applicable
- Income Tax requirements
- Other applicable statutory filings
Responsibilities include:
- Review GST data before filing.
- Reconcile sales and purchase data.
- Review input tax credit.
- Ensure TDS deductions and payments are completed on time.
- Maintain statutory registers and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with external consultants/CA as required.
1. Payroll & Employee Accounting
- Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Verify attendance, leave, incentives and deductions.
- Calculate salaries and statutory deductions.
- Prepare salary statements and payslips.
- Coordinate salary payments.
- Maintain employee advances and recoveries.
- Ensure payroll accounting entries are correctly posted.
- Coordinate with HR for employee-related financial information.
1. Bank & Cash Management
- Maintain daily bank reconciliation.
- Monitor all bank transactions.
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements.
- Track customer receipts and vendor payments.
- Monitor cheque/ECS/NEFT/RTGS/UPI transactions.
- Maintain petty cash.
- Conduct periodic petty-cash verification.
- Ensure proper approval and documentation for all payments.

Assist management with:

- Ensure accounting data is updated regularly.
- Maintain accurate masters for customers, vendors, products and tax codes.
- Ensure correct mapping of sales, purchases, inventory and expenses.
- Maintain proper integration between inventory, production and accounting systems.
- Identify system/process gaps and recommend improvements.
- Ensure data integrity and controlled access.
Experience with Tally, ERP systems, accounting software and advanced Excel will be preferred.

- Supervise the Accounts & Finance team.
- Allocate responsibilities among team members.
- Review accounting work.
- Set daily, weekly and monthly deliverables.

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Finance & Accounts professional who understands both accounting and the commercial realities of a manufacturing business. The candidate should not be limited to bookkeeping and statutory compliance. They should be capable of using financial data to answer:
