Engagement: 2-year fixed-term contract, full-time

Position Summary

The India Account Manager is accountable for the successful execution of the OpenAI Master Trainer Programme across India, in support of one of the world’s most influential AI companies. Based in a major Indian metro, this role leads and supports a distributed cohort of up to twenty OpenAI Master Trainers located across Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru.

Acting as the bridge between global programme strategy and in-country execution, the Account Manager ensures that training delivery, trainer performance, workforce management, compliance and stakeholder engagement are all aligned to OpenAI’s programme objectives. Given the scale of the India cohort and its spread across five major hubs — with trainers engaged through Employer of Record arrangements — the role carries significant people-leadership, operational and compliance responsibility.

Working closely with the Global Programme Director and cross-functional support teams, this individual delivers a consistent, high-quality programme experience while adapting execution to the specific commercial, cultural and regulatory needs of the Indian market.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership:

- Own end-to-end delivery of the OpenAI Master Trainer Programme across India, ensuring alignment to client objectives, partner priorities and global programme standards.
- Drive consistency of execution across all five hubs while adapting delivery to local business, cultural and market requirements.
- Identify opportunities, risks and growth initiatives, and translate them into actionable plans.
- Provide ongoing recommendations to improve operational efficiency, trainer impact and overall programme performance.

Trainer Leadership & Performance Management:

- Lead, support and motivate the India cohort of up to 20 OpenAI Master Trainers across Pune,

Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru.
- Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews and individual development planning across a large, geographically distributed team.
- Drive accountability to established KPIs, learner feedback scores and programme delivery standards.
- Monitor trainer utilisation, readiness and deployment effectiveness, and act early where performance or capacity risks emerge.
- Support trainer onboarding, certification and ongoing enablement activities at scale.

Client & Partner Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, delivery partners and client contacts across India.
- Support planning, training prioritisation and resource allocation discussions.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for in-country operational issues, resolving or elevating them as appropriate.
- Communicate insights, opportunities and challenges clearly to global leadership.

Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure compliance with Indian labour laws, employment regulations and operational requirements across all locations.
- Monitor workforce changes, labour market conditions and hiring or retention challenges across the five hubs.
- Ensure adherence to programme policies and global standards, and escalate compliance concerns and operational risks promptly.

Operational Execution:

- Oversee deployment planning and trainer scheduling alignment against training demand across the country.
- Partner with global resourcing and coordination functions to ensure demand is met efficiently across hubs.
- Monitor event execution, reporting compliance and day-to-day operational performance.

Performance Reporting:

- Track KPIs,

trainer performance, learner satisfaction and utilisation metrics across the India cohort.
- Analyse trends and surface opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular business updates and performance reporting to the Global Programme Director.
- Support executive reviews and quarterly business planning activities as required.

Qualifications

Required:

- 5–6+ years’ commercial experience supporting training, enablement, consulting, field operations, account management or professional services teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing large, distributed or remote teams across multiple cities.
- Strong understanding of workforce management, performance coaching and operational execution at scale.
- Exceptional communication, leadership and relationship-management skills.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving abilities.
- Based in India, with valid Indian working rights and the ability to travel across Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru as required.

Preferred:

- Experience supporting enterprise technology, AI, software, cloud or consulting organisations.
- Experience managing multi-city operations across India.
- Familiarity with Indian labour laws, statutory compliance and Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements.
- Experience supporting partner enablement, certification or technical training programmes.
- Experience working within global, matrixed organisations.

Eligibility & Engagement:Candidates must hold valid Indian working rights.

Employment is on a 2-year fixed-term contract, engaged through the programme’s appointed Employer of Record in India, in accordance with applicable Indian employment law and statutory requirements.

This is a full-time engagement with all statutory and standard employee advantages provided.

The engagement includes a company laptop and equipment provided to programme specification.

Approved business and regional travel incurred in the delivery of the role is covered.
