Role Description The Academic Counselor is a full time, on-site role based in Trivandrum. This role involves guiding prospective and current learners in selecting suitable cybersecurity programs, providing academic advising, and supporting their learning journey from enrollment to completion.

The Academic

Counselor conducts one-on-one counseling sessions, explains course structure and outcomes, and helps learners align their academic choices with career goals in cybersecurity. Daily tasks include responding to inquiries, maintaining accurate learner records, coordinating with faculty and administrative teams, and monitoring academic progress.



The role also includes organizing information sessions, supporting placement and internship guidance, and contributing to learner engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners throughout their programs.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact clearly with learners, families, and internal stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess Career Counseling skills to help learners plan and navigate cybersecurity career paths.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Education principles, preferably with experience in academic institutions or training academies.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field are preferred.
- Experience working with students or early-career professionals, ideally in technical or professional training environments, is beneficial.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity or IT training programs, and the ability to understand course content and career outcomes, is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple learner cases simultaneously are important.
- Comfort with using digital tools, CRM or student management systems, and basic office software for records and reporting is beneficial.
