About The Role The SAP ABAP Development Lead at Tech Data plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and supporting integrated SAP solutions aligned with our business objectives. This position involves collaborating closely with functional teams to analyze requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and develop high-quality ABAP programs.

The role requires leading a team of developers, coordinating with third-party vendors, and ensuring that all SAP development activities adhere to architectural standards and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive SAP technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to support our S/4HANA landscape and ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in SAP ABAP development, with a proven track record in leading technical teams and managing complex SAP projects.

Experience with S/4HANA implementation and a solid understanding of SAP functional modules are essential.



Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be capable of working collaboratively in a team environment. A good understanding of SAP roadmaps and the ability to leverage AI technologies, including SAP AI products, to enhance development processes are highly desirable.

Candidates should also exhibit strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and innovation.

Responsibilities

- Ensure that all business applications are developed in compliance with architectural standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with SAP functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Support SAP EWM and SAP ECC ABAP development activities, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Lead and mentor a team of SAP developers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
- Coordinate with third-party development teams and vendors to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Design, build, test, and implement enhancements and corrections in SAP systems to optimize performance and functionality.
- Maintain awareness of SAP product roadmaps and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.




- Support the adoption of AI and automation tools within SAP development processes to improve efficiency and quality.
