About Ekamya Capital

Ekamya Capital is an investment management firm focused on creating long-term value for investors and entrepreneurs. Built on the principle of unity and a single goal of prosperity, the firm operates across the Indian market with a strong focus on Pre-IPO opportunities and asset management.

We invest in high-potential businesses across manufacturing, consumer goods, and technology, supported by a team of certified financial advisers and experienced fund managers. The firm manages the Ekamya Pragati Fund, a Category I AIF (SME) registered with SEBI (IN/AIF1/24-25/1768), and offers tailored solutions supporting companies from early-stage growth through IPO and beyond.

We are now launching a new Category II AIF, and this role will lead it from the ground up.

The Role

The Fund Manager will own the fund end-to-end: investment strategy, evaluation, execution, and portfolio performance. This is a founding-team position on a fund being built from scratch, so the mandate spans origination through exit and involves building systems as you go.

Location: Magnum Global Park, Sector 58, Gurugram, Haryana. This is an in-person role. We expect the person to be in the office on all working days. We have a strong preference for candidates residing close to our office location.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deal Sourcing and Investment Evaluation

- Build and manage a proprietary deal pipeline across the fund's target sectors and stages through direct origination, intermediary networks, and founder and promoter relationships
- Screen inbound and sourced opportunities against the fund's investment thesis, sector focus, and return hurdles
- Prepare first-cut evaluation notes and recommend which opportunities proceed to full diligence

2. Financial Modelling and Valuation

- Build and stress-test financial models covering unit economics, cash flow, and return waterfalls
- Apply appropriate valuation methodologies (DCF, comparable company and transaction multiples, precedent transactions) by asset stage and sector
- Develop entry and exit scenarios and sensitivity analyses to support Investment Committee decisions

3. Due Diligence and Transaction Execution

- Lead end-to-end diligence across commercial, financial, legal, and management workstreams, coordinating external advisers as needed
- Draft Investment Committee memos with clear theses, risk flags, and recommendations
- Negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements and manage transactions through to financial close

4. Portfolio Monitoring and Value Creation

- Track portfolio company performance against thesis and financial covenants and maintain a live portfolio dashboard
- Engage with management teams and boards on strategy, governance, and growth
- Drive value-creation levers including follow-on financing, strategic partnerships, and operational improvements
- Flag early-warning signals and lead remediation or exit planning where required

5. Portfolio Construction and Asset Allocation

- Optimise allocation across the fund in line with mandate and risk-return objectives
- Assess risk-return profiles at both position and portfolio level
- Interpret financial statements, industry trends, and macroeconomic data to inform positioning

6. Investor Relations and Fundraising

- Support the partners in raising the fund's target corpus by building LP pipelines, preparing collateral, and driving investor meetings
- Prepare and present portfolio and fund performance updates to existing and prospective LPs
- Contribute to pitch decks, PPM inputs, factsheets, and other investor-facing materials with SEBI-compliant marketing language

7. Regulatory and Compliance Oversight

- Ensure investment activity remains compliant with SEBI (AIF) Regulations, 2012, and applicable circulars
- Work with the compliance officer and trustee on periodic SEBI reporting, PPM adherence, and audit requirements
- Maintain deal-level documentation and audit trails to institutional standards
