Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand, inventory, and capacity.
- Create and release manufacturing work orders.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules based on material shortages, downtime, demand changes, or manpower availability.
- Balance workloads across departments and prioritize production based on customer commitments.
- Identify production bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
Material Planning
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages.
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Material Handling teams for material staging.
- Recommend improvements to reduce excess inventory and prevent shortages.
Production Coordination
- Communicate production priorities and schedules to supervisors and department leaders.
- Participate in daily production meetings and monitor schedule adherence.
- Support initiatives to improve production flow and reduce lead times.
ERP & Reporting
- Maintain accurate planning data in ERP/MRP systems.
- Generate production schedules, capacity reports, backlog reports, and inventory reports.
- Monitor production KPIs and report performance against planned schedules.
- Maintain accurate planning records and documentation.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze production trends and improve scheduling accuracy.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with capacity planning for future production requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- 3 7 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain planning.
- Experience working in a manufacturing workplace.
- Strong knowledge of production planning and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
