Job Description: SOC Analyst – Level 2

Role Summary

The SOC Analyst – L2 is responsible for advanced monitoring, analysis, and response to security alerts and incidents across the organization’s security infrastructure. The role focuses on investigating escalated alerts, performing deep analysis, and supporting incident containment and remediation.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts generated from Trend Micro Vision One XDR, SIEM, firewalls, antivirus (AV), and other security tools.
- Perform in-depth investigation of escalated alerts from L1 analysts to determine true positives, root cause, and potential impact.
- Correlate events across multiple security platforms to identify suspicious or malicious activity.
- Lead incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery actions.
- Conduct threat hunting and proactive analysis to identify hidden or emerging threats.
- Analyze endpoint, network, and log data to detect anomalies and advanced attack patterns.
- Support response to phishing, malware, ransomware,



and credential compromise incidents.
- Coordinate with IT, Endpoint, Network, and Service Desk teams during security incidents.
- Document incidents, investigations, and remediation steps in the incident management system.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to L1 SOC analysts.
- Assist in tuning detection rules, alerts, and security use cases to reduce false positives.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of SOC processes.

Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or cybersecurity role.
- Robust hands-on experience with XDR, SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and endpoint security tools.
- Solid understanding of:
- Cyber threats, attack vectors, and kill chain
- Malware analysis and phishing techniques
- Network protocols and security fundamentals
- Experience handling security incidents and escalations.
