Medical Coder Trainer – Job Description (JD)

Qualification:
- Certificate/Diploma in Medical Coding, Medical Records, Health Information Management, or Medical Documentation
- Basic understanding of hospital workflows and EMR/EHR systems
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes

Preferred Qualification (Not Compulsory):
- BMRS, HIM, B.Pharm, Paramedical Sciences
- Diploma in Medical Coding & Billing
- CPC, CCA, CCS, ICD-10-CM, CPT, or HCPCS certifications

Experience:

1–2 years in hospital front office, medical records, patient registration, billing, EMR/EHR systems, or diagnostic/lab centres

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct classroom, virtual,



and on-the-job training sessions on medical coding concepts, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and assessments
- Support learner progress and maintain training records
- Prepare students for placement & workplace readiness and get them hired

Skills Required:
- Good communication skills and presentation skills
- Knowledge of healthcare documentation and hospital processes
- Proficiency in MS Office and EMR/EHR systems
- Solid classroom management and learner engagement skills
