Job Description: A Shift Incharge in a Ferro Alloys plant supervises daily Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) operations. They manage production targets, monitor process parameters, ensure optimal raw material charging, and enforce safety (HSE) protocols during their shift. [1, 2, 3] Key Responsibilities

- Production Management: Oversee the end-to-end smelting process from raw material charging to tapping and casting, ensuring shift production targets are met without quality deviations. [1, 2, 3]
- Process Monitoring: Continuously adjust critical furnace parameters like temperature, voltage, and amperage to maximize energy efficiency and maintain slag chemistry. [1, 2]
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Setting (HSE) standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including the use of required PPE by all floor workers. [1, 2, 3]
- Team Leadership: Assign tasks, supervise plant operators,



and organize regular safety briefings. [1, 2]
- Reporting: Document equipment performance, raw material consumption, and production logs to prepare comprehensive shift reports. [1, 2]

Typical Requirements
- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Typically requires 6 to 8+ years of hands-on experience in furnace operations within a steel or ferro-alloy plant.
