Job Description: An IT Engineer in a steel manufacturing plant bridges the gap between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT). They manage plant-wide networks, ensure system uptime for heavy machinery, and support software applications that track steel production, quality, and supply chain logistics. - OT/IT Integration: Connect and manage data from Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), sensors, and IoT devices on the shop floor to optimize steel production. [1]
- System & Network Management: Install, configure, and maintain plant hardware, servers, and network infrastructure to guarantee uninterrupted operations. [1, 2]
- ERP & Database Support: Manage and support database systems (SQL) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modules (e.g., SAP, MS Dynamics) used for inventory and order management. [1, 2, 3]
