Google SecOps Cyber Detection Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement and tune detection rules, use cases and dashboards in Google SecOps.

Develop detection rules in YARA-L covering a broad range of data sources and telemetry types.

Apply a Detection-as-Code approach, automating the deployment of detection content to client environments through CI/CD pipelines.

Build and enhance internal tooling, API integrations and reusable components to increase the efficiency and coverage of the detection team.

Configure and fine-tune the Google SecOps platform optimizing data ingestion and parsers, UDM normalization, detection logic and alerting thresholds to improve detection efficacy and reduce false positives.

Provide technical support during investigations and escalations.

Conduct hypothesis-driven threat hunts to uncover gaps in existing detection coverage and turn findings into new detection content.

Qualifications

Solid understanding of enterprise security controls and the telemetry they generate.

Strong working knowledge of the deployment,



configuration and management of Google SecOps (formerly Chronicle) in enterprise environments.

Strong understanding of the Unified Data Model (UDM), log ingestion and parser development.

Strong skills in developing YARA-L rules, as well as scripting in Python and PowerShell.

Hands-on experience with a Detection-as-Code approach (Git, CI/CD).

Qualifications
