Role Overview
The Partner – Investment Banking Services (IBS) will be based in Mumbai and will play a senior leadership role in originating, structuring and executing cross-border transactions across Japan, India and the wider Asia Pacific region.
The role requires an established track record of 25+ years in dealmaking, with particular strength in developing relationships with Japanese corporates, financial institutions, investors and strategic partners across Asia.
The Partner will work closely with the firm's Singapore office, which serves as an key regional hub for Asia Pacific investment banking and cross-border advisory activity.
Key Responsibilities
* Originate and lead high-value M&A;, strategic investment, capital raising and corporate finance transactions.
* Develop and manage senior relationships with Japanese and Asian corporates, investors, family offices and financial institutions.
* Identify cross-border opportunities between India, Japan and Asia Pacific.
* Lead negotiations and transaction strategy through origination, structuring and execution.
* Work closely with the Singapore office and regional partners on APAC mandates.
* Build strategic relationships with Japanese corporates looking at India and Indian businesses seeking expansion or investment opportunities across Japan and Asia.
* Represent IBS at senior client and investor meetings across the region.
* Mentor and guide transaction teams while maintaining senior-level ownership of key relationships.
Travel Requirement
The Partner will be Mumbai-based, with expected travel to the Singapore office approximately twice per month, in addition to travel across Japan and other Asia Pacific markets as required by transaction mandates.
