Role Overview
The Assistant Compliance Manager will support the Compliance Manager in maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance, risk management, quality assurance and audit readiness across the business.
This role will have a robust people-management and operational compliance focus, with responsibility for managing Team Leaders and their teams, overseeing compliance processes, supporting audits, conducting risk assessments and ensuring policies and procedures are consistently followed.
The role has been upgraded from Team Leader to Assistant Manager to attract higher-calibre talent with proven leadership, auditing and healthcare compliance experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Management
Manage Team Leaders and their teams in the day-to-day running of the department.
Lead, motivate and develop a diverse, multi-level team.
Monitor team performance against agreed targets and quality standards.
Demonstrate a proven ability to take a team from point A to point B, delivering measurable improvements.
Candidate must have previously managed a minimum of 8 people.

Regulatory Monitoring & Reporting
Keep up to date with relevant UK healthcare regulations, regulatory changes and industry requirements.
Assist the Compliance Manager with regulatory filings, reporting and submissions.
Ensure regulatory requirements are effectively communicated and implemented across relevant teams.
3. Risk & Compliance Controls
Assist with regular risk assessments and identify potential compliance gaps.
Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements where required.
Support the identification, investigation and resolution of compliance risks.
Ensure appropriate controls are maintained and followed consistently.
4. Candidate Onboarding & Due Diligence
Review candidate files and compliance documentation as part of the onboarding process.
Conduct and oversee appropriate due diligence checks.
Support and enhance existing compliance procedures and processes.
