Tax Manager / Lead – Direct Tax

Location: Sholinganallur, Chennai

Job Description
We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant to take ownership of the organization's tax function, ensuring full compliance while proactively identifying opportunities to optimize tax functions. This role requires robust technical expertise in direct tax, transfer pricing, and cross-border taxation, along with the ability to manage stakeholders across consultants, auditors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct tax research and stay updated on evolving direct tax laws and regulations
Prepare and review monthly TDS computations and ensure timely quarterly filings
Identify and implement strategies to minimize the effective tax rate
Oversee non-income tax compliance across the organization
Lead and manage tax audits,



including preparation of documentation and responses
Prepare and review tax assessments and Transfer Pricing (TP) assessments
Oversee tax compliance across multiple group entities
Coordinate with external consultants on assessments, appeals, and technical opinions
Support TP studies, Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR), and DTAA analysis
Advise on tax implications of cross-border transactions

Qualifications
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in direct tax
Prior experience in a corporate tax department or CA firm, with strong direct tax exposure
Sound working knowledge of Indian and international taxation
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
