Examples of Duties
Performs responsible skilled and technical work in the daily operations of an urban forestry work crew; does related work as assigned. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Field Operations Forester. Job classification is a supervisory role. Supervision is exercised over the assigned urban forestry work crew. TYPICAL TASKS: Leads and supervises field activities of an urban forestry work crew. Provides on-the-job training for current employees assigned to respective crew. Prunes, removes, and otherwise maintains street and public trees. Uses insulated tool to remove tree parts from electrical wires in accordance with OSHA and ANSI standards. Identifies dead trees to be removed and reports address to urban forestry office. Drives assigned aerial/crew truck to and from job site. Responsible for all equipment issued. Performs emergency duties during and after storms to remove trees and branches from streets. Prepares reports as required, such as personal injury repo
