There are leaders you report to.
And then there are leaders you don't want to let down.
A few years ago, I was managing Shell fuel stations.
Our Territory Manager, Amit, had limited involvement in our daily operations. He wasn't at the station every day. He wasn't checking every detail.
But he had something far more powerful.
Our trust.
He never managed through authority. He managed through belief.
He spoke to us like partners. He listened like a friend. He treated every retailer like a human being first.
Because of that, we never hid problems. We discussed them early. We shared ideas freely. We pushed harder—not because we had to, but because we wanted to.
The result?
During his tenure, the sites I managed consistently performed at their best.
After he moved on, nothing about my team changed.
The people were the same.
The systems were the same.
But the energy was different.
That experience taught me something I have never forgotten.
Culture is often created by people who aren't doing the work themselves.
One great leader can quietly influence hundreds of decisions every single day.
As I build Super Sandwich, I don't just want excellent stores.
I want leaders like Amit.
Which is why I'm looking for an Operations Manager.
Not someone who manages stores.
Someone who builds managers.
Someone who earns trust before asking for results.
Because businesses don't scale through processes alone.
They scale through people who make other people believe they can do more.
If that sounds like you or someone you know I would love to connect.
