Peformers across Barbados who dream of being on stage are being encouraged to chase that opportunity, as registration continues for the 2026 Richard Stoute Contest, which celebrates a significant milestone this year – its 50th anniversary.

Registration is open until Friday, August 28, 2026, giving performers of all ages the opportunity to become part of a competition that has helped to nurture and showcase Barbadian vocal talent for five decades.

The competition features two categories: Teen Talent, open to participants ages 6 to 21, and the Over 21 category for singers ages 22 and over.

Prospective contestants can register online at ncf.bb or during the contest’s ongoing vocal workshops.

The workshops are being held every Monday and Tuesday from 5:00 p.m.



at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed and are designed to assist singers in developing their vocal abilities as they prepare to participate in the competition.

The sessions also provide an chance for those considering entering the contest to gain practical experience, work on their performance skills and take the first step towards appearing on the Richard Stoute stage.

As the competition enters its 50th year, singers from across the island are being encouraged to take advantage of the workshops and register before the August 28 deadline.
