Job Description
The Procurement Engineer or Product Sourcing Engineer (PSE) plays a pivotal role in driving advanced and current product development efforts by establishing and industrializing the supplier base for innovation projects. The role leads the creation of Product Cost Roadmaps for existing products, aiming to deliver improvements in cost efficiency, quality, and risk mitigation. It actively engages suppliers in BoM RFP processes to secure competitive pricing and comprehensive participation, while conducting Design for Excellence (DfX) activities to enhance overall product value. The PSE facilitates early supplier innovation events to promote collaboration and technical input, working closely with Innovation and Engineering teams to incorporate breakthrough ideas into product design—ultimately optimizing propositions and ensuring maximum value for Philips and its customers.
Your role:
Drives supplier participation in BoM RFPs for technical fit and cost competitiveness
Leads DfX initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and product performance
Facilitates early supplier innovation and integrates it into design
Partners with Engineering to leverage supplier expertise and influence specifications
Champions product cost and quality strategies across the portfolio
Ensures supplier readiness for New Product Introductions
Builds cost roadmaps post-launch, driving continuous improvements
Shapes cost engineering strategies through cross-functional collaboration
Executes impactful sourcing, cost, and risk reduction projects
You're the right fit if you have:
Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering.
10+ years of proven expertise in Product Sourcing, Supplier Innovation, and Cost Engineering, consistently driving value through strategic supplier engagement, technical insights, and process optimization.
