ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Strategic and Product Engineering Leadership
Translate product portfolio priorities and business objectives into explicit engineering goals, investment themes, capacity plans, and measurable outcomes.
Partner with Product Management and Architecture to shape executable roadmaps that balance customer value, platform modernization, quality, security, and maintainability.
Anticipate future product, scale, compliance, and operational needs, and influence engineering plans accordingly.
Drive cross-functional alignment for major product portfolio initiatives, dependencies, risks, and delivery trade-offs.
Portfolio Delivery and Governance
Provide portfolio-level oversight across engineering teams supporting the product portfolio to ensure commitments are realistic, risks are visible, and delivery outcomes are predictable.
Establish governance mechanisms for planning, execution reviews, release readiness, quality health, dependency management,



and stakeholder communication.
Use engineering and product metrics to improve delivery predictability, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
Support budget planning, capacity forecasting, hiring prioritization, and investment trade-off decisions across the product portfolio.
Engineering Excellence and Operational Maturity
Raise the engineering bar across architecture, secure SDLC, design reviews, testing strategy, CI/CD, observability, release quality, and production readiness.
Drive improvements in reliability, performance, scalability, incident learning, vulnerability management, and customer-impacting defect reduction.
Promote consistent engineering standards across teams while enabling Engineering Managers and technical leads to own team-level execution.
Champion the responsible adoption of automation and AI-assisted engineering practices that improve productivity, quality, and customer value.
