This Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership across the design, development, validation, and sustaining of advanced fiber optic and telecommunication products for defense and aerospace applications. The role owns complex mechanical systems from concept through production, drives design robustness, and ensures compliance with military, aerospace, and customer requirements.

The Senior Engineer partners closely with Engineering Leadership, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Business teams to guide technical strategy, lead design execution, and mentor junior engineers. This role is accountable for design integrity, manufacturability,



and lifecycle documentation while enabling innovation, cost optimization, and continuous improvement across programs.
Mandatory Skills:
3+ years of experience driving execution of complex mechanical designs and sustaining engineering activities in defence, aerospace, or high-reliability hardware systems.
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (and AutoCAD) for complex assemblies, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design optimization.
Strong expertise in GD&T; per ANSI Y14.5, tolerance analysis, and mechanical stress evaluation for high-precision components.
Proven experience leading prototype builds, design validation, and transition to production, including issue resolution during ramp-up.
Demonstrated ability to lead root cause analysis efforts and drive corrective and preventive design actions.
Strong communication, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills in rapid-paced env
