The Career Development Officer manages the learning and long term career development of Company’s seagoing staff.



This position will be fully familiar with the promotion criteria for each rank and work closely with the training department and the management teams to ensure promotions are effectively managed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Is familiar with the Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Policy (PL-005), and understands the responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS). In keeping with this and other compliance policies, they understand their duty to report any environmental noncompliance and/or concern to their manager or members of the senior management team (including the highest level of management) either directly or through the open reporting system as per Management System guidelines

Disseminates information on promotion criteria by rank. Using the Career Development Initiativeand other materials developed by the Training Department effectively communicates the company’s promotion criteria, particularly to new joiners and when changes are made

Responds to queries from officers regarding the process and their status and
