About Alyke
Alyke is a friendship discovery app — think Hinge, but for finding friends. We pair people 1-on-1 based on true interests and personality. We are now making short-form video our primary growth channel, and this role builds that engine from day one. You will be the first person to own it — there is no existing playbook debt, no legacy content, and full room to make it yours.
The Role
You will take our existing content — UGC-style videos, ads, reaction videos — and turn each piece into multiple edited variations with different hooks, captions, and thumbnails, then post and iterate across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts (3 posts/day). Content direction and approvals are provided; your job is fast, high-quality execution of the editing and posting loop, and making each video perform better than the last.
What You'll Do
• Edit: cut and re-edit videos into short-form variations: different first-3-second hooks, pacing, lengths, and endings
• Add: captions/subtitles, text overlays, trending audio, and platform-correct 9:16 formatting with safe zones
• Create:
thumbnail frames and on-thumbnail caption text, and test variations of both
• Publish: 3 videos/day across Instagram, TikTok, and Shorts using a scheduler, at researched optimal times
• Write: captions and pinned comments per our playbook and test different caption styles per video
• Monitor: each video's retention curve; cut or trim sections where view-through drops, and re-upload improved versions
• Track: views and traction signals daily, and flag winning hooks/formats for further variations
• Research: trending formats, sounds, and meme templates weekly and adapt them to our content
Must-Haves
• Grown an Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube account/page yourself (any niche) — you will be asked to show the account and its analytics
• 1–3 years editing short-form content (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) — portfolio required
