Oracle Database Engineer Job Description
As an Oracle Database Engineer (DBA) you will plan, coordinate and administer database functions, documentation, upgrades, lifecycle, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and data protection. In this role you will regularly work with Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Ensure performance, security, and availability of all databases.
Implement common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration through automation practices.
Create well designed infrastructure automation deliverables using a variety of tools and approaches.
Investigate and fix database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation.
Partner with development teams to design efficient and scalable database structures.
Provide timely resolution and root cause analysis for incidents.




Provide technical guidance and support to developers and end-users.
Profile server resource usage.
Prepare SOE and Runbook documentation and specifications.
Collaborate with database team members, stakeholders, and architects to ensure solutions that are aligned with the global service workplace.
Participate in setting objectives, strategies, plans, programs, performance standards/measures and procedures.
Understanding and alignment of ITIL change and incident management processes.
Required to work in 8/5 shift support and weekend rotational On-Call support in collaboration with global DBA teams.
Qualifications / Experience
At least 10+years of related experience in managing Oracle databases at versions 19c & 23ai
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
Good communication and collaboration abilities
Familiar with devops practices and continuous integration and continuous delivery (C
